Genadorelin Acetate 2 mg — a decapeptide reference standard for reproductive endocrinology.
Genadorelin (gonadorelin) is the synthetic form of the body's own gonadotropin-releasing hormone, and it remains the baseline comparator for the entire GnRH analogue field. For laboratories studying the hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal axis, it is the native sequence against which everything else is measured. Supplied as a 2 mg lyophilised vial.
What is Genadorelin Acetate?
Genadorelin acetate is a synthetic decapeptide identical in sequence to endogenous gonadotropin-releasing hormone, supplied as the acetate salt for improved handling and solubility. GnRH sits at the top of the reproductive endocrine cascade: it is released in pulses from the hypothalamus and acts at pituitary GnRH receptors to govern downstream gonadotropin output. Because the native peptide has a very short biological half-life and a strongly pulse-dependent signalling profile, it is a particularly informative research tool — the difference between pulsatile and continuous exposure is one of the classic demonstrations in receptor desensitisation biology.
Research interest
- HPG axis modelling — investigated in work mapping hypothalamic–pituitary–gonadal signalling cascades.
- Receptor desensitisation — a textbook probe for studying pulsatile versus continuous receptor stimulation.
- Comparative analogue research — used as the native-sequence reference against synthetic GnRH agonists and antagonists.
- Pituitary cell culture — applied in in-vitro gonadotroph stimulation and responsiveness assays.
- Analytical standards — of interest to researchers developing chromatographic and immunoassay methods for GnRH Peptides.

Handling & storage
Low-mass vials demand careful technique: at 2 mg, the lyophilised cake is small and losses to the stopper or vial wall are proportionally significant. Equilibrate the sealed vial to room temperature before opening, then reconstitute per the laboratory's own validated protocol, directing solvent down the wall so the entire cake is wetted and rinsed into solution. Swirl gently; do not vortex. Native GnRH sequences are susceptible to enzymatic and chemical degradation in solution, so reconstituted material should be kept cold, protected from light and aliquoted immediately for single-use handling. Discard any solution showing turbidity or particulates, and avoid repeated freeze–thaw cycling entirely.
Genadorelin Acetate 2 mg in context: gonadorelin, GnRH and its analogues
Genadorelin is a catalogue spelling of gonadorelin, the international name for synthetic GnRH, which older papers call LHRH (luteinising hormone-releasing hormone). Its ten-residue structure, pGlu-His-Trp-Ser-Tyr-Gly-Leu-Arg-Pro-Gly-NH2, was worked out in 1971–72 by the rival laboratories of Andrew Schally and Roger Guillemin, who shared the 1977 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. In 1978 Ernst Knobil's group showed in rhesus monkeys that intermittent GnRH restored gonadotropin secretion while a constant infusion switched it off, a result that redirected the whole field.
That paradox produced two drug families. Swapping the glycine at position 6 for a D-amino acid, and in several molecules altering the C-terminus, lets agonists such as leuprorelin, triptorelin, goserelin and buserelin resist enzymatic breakdown, so sustained exposure desensitises the pituitary. Antagonists (cetrorelix, ganirelix, degarelix, and the oral non-peptides elagolix and relugolix) block the receptor outright. Native gonadorelin remains the unmodified reference point.
| Compound | Acts on | Typical research question |
|---|---|---|
| Kisspeptin-10 research peptide | KISS1R on GnRH neurons | What triggers GnRH release upstream |
| Gonadorelin (native GnRH) | Pituitary GnRH receptor | How pulse timing shapes LH and FSH output |
| Long-acting GnRH agonists | Pituitary GnRH receptor | How sustained exposure shuts the axis down |
| hCG | LH/hCG receptor in the gonads | Gonadal response with the pituitary bypassed |
Spotting genuine material. A real vial arrives sealed, carries a lot number that matches its certificate of analysis, and that certificate shows HPLC purity plus a mass-spectrometry result consistent with the peptide's molecular mass of about 1182 Da. A white, intact lyophilised cake is normal; a collapsed, yellowed or sticky one is not. Undated paperwork, or one certificate recycled across every batch, is a warning sign.
Realistic expectations. Work with native GnRH is about timing rather than quantity: each exposure produces a brief gonadotropin pulse, and the wrong pattern suppresses the axis instead of stimulating it. Clinical reports on GnRH preparations describe headache, nausea, flushing, local reactions and, rarely, hypersensitivity. Questions about fertility or hormone levels belong with a doctor and proper bloodwork (LH, FSH, sex steroids); dose and duration of any GnRH-based treatment are a physician's decision. Frequently asked questions
Is genadorelin the same thing as gonadorelin or GnRH?
Yes. Gonadorelin is the official name for synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone, GnRH for short, and genadorelin is simply a spelling some suppliers use. "Acetate" refers to the salt form; other salts, such as the hydrochloride, appear in older literature. It is not the same as long-acting analogues like triptorelin or leuprorelin, which are chemically modified versions of the molecule.
Where can I buy gonadorelin online in Europe?
Rogue ships Genadorelin Acetate 2 mg from EU stock to customers across the European Union, tracked and in plain, discreet packaging, so there is no need to hunt for a supplier in each country or import from outside the EU. You pay by SEPA bank transfer or through a secure card payment link, and orders over €30 ship free.
How much does gonadorelin 2 mg cost?
The current price of a 2 mg vial is shown at the top of this page. If you need more than one vial, multi-buy discounts apply automatically from three units, and the full price ladder is displayed on the page, so you see what each vial costs before you check out. Shipping is free on any order over €30.
Can I get gonadorelin at a pharmacy, and do I need a prescription?
This product is a research peptide, and research peptides are not sold in pharmacies. Where GnRH-based medicines are authorised for patients, they are prescription medicines used under medical supervision, and which ones are available differs from country to country. The rules on buying and holding research compounds vary too, so check the regulations that apply where you live before you order.
What is the difference between gonadorelin and hCG?
They act at different levels of the same axis. Gonadorelin stimulates the pituitary, which then releases both LH and FSH in short bursts. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG 5000 IU) skips the pituitary, binds the LH receptor in the gonads directly and stays active far longer. Research therefore uses them to answer different questions, and head-to-head data comparing the two remain limited.
Will my order arrive discreetly, and can I track it?
Yes. Every order is dispatched from EU stock in plain, discreet packaging, and you receive tracking details so you can follow the parcel all the way to your door. When the vial arrives, check that the seal is intact and the lot number matches the paperwork, then store it as described in the specifications above.
